I Had A Small Companion

I HAD A SMALL COMPANION

I had a small companion,

I considered her my friend,

She always listened quietly,

On her silence I could depend.

She would sit in shadow,

And oft' appeared at night,

My friend would walk on tip toes,

And dance till it was light.

She wore fabric spun by spiders,

Had wings of irridecent green,

She was a beauty to behold,

When she wanted to be seen.

Her hair was fine like gossamer,

It was golden like the sun,

Her limbs were long and slender,

She had eyes that really shone.

I love my small companion,

And even though I'm grown,

She is always there to guide me,

I never feel alone.
