Sunday

Once upon a time, long, long ago, in the land of dreams and childhood fantasies . . .

there was a secret wooded place called the Elvin Forest. It was home to all the special creatures that the old folk had long forgotten about, a place where the inhabitants were thought to have become extinct or had never really existed at all. These wonderful residents of the forest were for a long time, written about as creatures of myth and fables.

However, in recent times this forest, which was once only seen by those who believed in fairies, has been discovered once more. This time by someone older than she'd liked to recall and yet still young enough at heart to allow her imagination to explore the impossible.

Shhh, close your eyes and listen carefully, can you hear the splish splash of the water as it cascades down the mountain side to the babbling brook that meanders through the forest? Can you see the fairies dancing in the dark? Did you say "yes"? Ah, that's better, now take a fairy by the hand, the fairies will guide you and soon you will meet all the friendly occupants of the Elvin Forest.

The Guardians
The Guardians live in the Elvin Forest and watch over those who live and play there. Most are Elementals who have no definite form or appearance. All the Guardians here are empowered to mete out punishment and praise as is necessary to ensure balance and harmony reigns throughout the forest.

There are many elves there too, who live in very unusual houses, like ~

The Chocolate Box
on Oak Tree Lane, which is just a stone throw from the other tiny Elvin Forest residents.

The Biscuit Barrel
that some how made it's way into the forest. It's very cosy and homely inside, with decorated walls and favourite pictures of places the elves have visited along the way to reaching their Elvin independence.

The Gingerbread House
situated not too far from the Biscuit Barrel, but a little deeper in the Elvin Forest and all decorated with lollipops and chocolate.

The Teapot
home to an unlikely trio of elves who have been brought together by circumstance. The teapot had once belonged to a family of dwarfs, but was abandoned long ago, not a soul in the Elvin Forest knows why the dwarfs left or where they went to. It's all very strange indeed!

is home to the smallest of elves, who used to live in the recently renovated Greenhouse. It had been a lucky find for them as they  lost their original tree house and all their belongings in a fire.

is home for the halflings who have recently arrived in the Elvin Forest.

AND we mustn't forget the fairies who live in a ~

Giant Mushroom
which lies just near the edge of the forest, not far from Sybil von Raven but across the lane and on the way to Troll County. Their home is quite modest in size, as one would expect of a mushroom, but it's extremely comfortable inside. However, fairies prefer to spend most of their time outdoors.

There's also an elf and a couple of sprites who board at ~

Ye Olde Schoolhouse
at the very end of Oak Tree Lane, high up on the hill. It's no longer used as a school, as there are no children living nearby, so it's become a boarding house for occasional visitors and those that don't have homes of their own.
